Hello, and welcome back to A.D. now!!! Before we start the podcast, I will be blogging on scriptures, and more. Then after the official launch of our podcast, I will add a blog every month to go with the scripture and topics being discussed to help you start your month right.
This month I’d like to discuss the comparison of Holy Bible’s. There are literally so many translations, it can be absolute confusion in itself. I’ve added some photos of different Bible comparisons.

As you see above, this can be quite confusing!!! Oh,my! When I was on the search to purchase a new Bible after 20 years of wear and tear on my last one, I discovered the array of Holy Bibles at my local bookstore. I myself am very fond of the original translation the one and only “KING JAMES VERSION” aka KJV. I could NOT find one copy sadly!!! I had to go to multiple book stores to find the perfect Bible for me, because this is gonna be my one and only for the next decade minimum. I did however find a KJV at the local Dollar Tree, which I purchased, how could I not at a $1.25?
But… I still wanted a leather bound for myself and was still on the hunt. And FINALLY I found a purple leather New King James Version I settled with. It’s the last photo above, and I absolutely LOVE it!
If you are unsure of what type of Bible to purchase, I have to say it really depends on your taste. If you are able to understand Shakespeare type of old English ok, I’d personally go with the one and only King James Version. That one is the first and CLOSEST translation to the original scrolls! The next closest is the New King James Version, which is written easier to read and still closest to the original. I found the more you explore scripture the more the scriptures are changed for people to understand. The question remains of exactly how much has been changed in the newer translations, and is it steering away from the living word of God?
I will let you be the judge of that yourself. For everyone gets a different message from the exact same scripture. It’s what it means to you personally, and how it grows in your heart and soul that matters.
Below is a scripture that I am fond of in 4 versions so you can see the difference in wording.

Proverbs 16:1 KJV
“The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.”
Proverbs 16:1 NKJV
“The preparations of the heart belong to man, But the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. “
Proverbs 16:1 TBT (The Passion Translation)
“Go ahead and make all the plans you want, but it’s the Lord who will ultimately direct your steps.”
Proverbs 16:1 NLT
“We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer.”

I hope this post helps anyone that is looking to purchase a new Bible as well as anyone that didn’t know the differences in scriptures.
Until next time!
